Spring is in the air
Spring is in the air
Northumberland College’s Kirkley Hall campus is celebrating the first signs of spring by inviting the animal loving public to see their new born lambs at an event next weekend.

Visitors will be able to hold lambs and look round the college’s purpose built sheep facility.

The students helping with the event, who are studying for a National Diploma in Agriculture qualification, carry out practical training on the farm as part of their course, learning about livestock production and use of machinery to prepare them for careers in the industry.

Marcus Clinton, Assistant Principal at Kirkley Hall, said: “This will be a great family fun day out at Kirkley Hall, the kids will love the lambs. We offer a wide range of agriculture and land based courses here and this is a great opportunity for people in the area to come along and find out more about what Kirkley Hall has to offer.”

The event takes place on Sunday 28th March, 9.30am – 12noon, and entry costs £2 per person. For more information contact the Operations Team at Kirkley Hall, on (01670) 841235.

Other courses available at the Kirkley Hall campus include countryside and environment, animal care, equine, arboriculture, horticulture, outdoor education and renewable energies. Anyone who is interested in learning about training at Kirkley Hall can come along to an open event on Wednesday 24 March from 4:30pm – 7pm or visit www.northumberland.ac.uk
